There is no childhood experience more special than falling in love with an animal and learning to meet the needs of another creature.
Meet Gemma and Cruise:
Our loving donkies, Cruise and Gemma are a massive part of our whaanau here at Old Macs. Without a doubt, they are always in their stable ready for their morning snuggles from the tamariki! When Gemma isnt used for the occasional donkey riding lesson, you will find these two feasting on their kai!
Our Ducklings:
Before we knew it, we had a duckling farm here at Old Macs! You will either find these guys roam our playground or swimming in the our ponds. Feeding these guys are apart of our daily rituals here at Old Macs!
Our Lamb Whaanau:
Our friendly flock of sheep expands each year as we welcome new arrivals to the whaanau! Each year, we are lucky enough to watch our hipi have their babies! We love learning about the lifecycle here at Old Macs and this is a perfect way to get a hands on experience!
Our Chickens:
We have a whaanau full of chickens here at Old Macs! The first thing we do every morning is check their water, give them breakfast and collect their eggs! Of course, we are always giving them snuggles.
Pepper:
Our darling wee Pepper! Pepper is a miniature pony who hangs out with her best friends, Sugar, Cruise and Gemma! Small in size, but big in personality - and certainly one of a kind! She loves her pony riding lessons with our tamariki and likes to sneak into the front office for snuggles with our admin staff.
Sugar:
Our firecracker Sugar is a bundle of fun. Her cheeky character and loveable personality makes her a big part of our animal family here at Old Mac’s. What she lacks in height she makes up for with her big heart and love for carrots.
Cocoa and Cinnamon
Our poaka duo are a massive part of our Old MacDonald’s whaanau. These darlings currently grazing the hills in Morrinsville amongst te ngahere. These ladies love the lunch leftovers and will never say no to a back scratch.
Pearl, Our Goose.
Meet our sassy gal, Pearl! This gem of a girl LOVES all the water play she can get. She has abandoned her special housing to join our chickens in their chook house! She is a friend to many.
